Canada Day art journal page

Hi everyone this is Mona back with a fun art journal page featuring the brand new Canada Day stamp set from Sunsational Crafts.
I started with making my background using several shades of blue paints for the sky then adhered brown cardstock for the ground. I die cut several strip of grass using a light green cardstock. Once my background was adhered into place I printed my digital image and coloured everything using my Spectrum  Noir markers. Now that everything was coloured I went on to modpodging everything into place, this makes it easier to add the shading around all the elements. I used my Faber Castell big brush marker to make all my shading and a white gel pen for my hi lights.
I hope you enjoyed this mini tutorial. If you have any questions about the products used you can just send me a message.

Three Woofs for the Red, White & Blue

Hello everyone!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards joining you today!

With the 4th of July just around the bend, it's time to get out the red, white and blue and, of course, Sunsational Stamps!  Today I'm using the Patriotic Puppy digital stamp in another Triple Panel Standing Card.  Here's a look at my finished card:

Last month I made a similar card, but used a plain circle in the center.   I liked the result so much I decided to try it again with a shaped center by tracing around the image in my Silhouette design screen.  This is what the cut file looks like after I sized it.

To create the mats, I made a compound path of the cut file above.  Doing this converts the score/dotted lines to solid lines.  This enables me to use the Internal Offset at  1/8" and 1/4" to make the mats.  Here's what that looks like:

I used Stampin' Up's Real Red and Whisper White card stocks and Candy Box Digital Patriotic patterned paper.  The edges of all the printed mats were sponged with Brilliant Blue (retired SU) to cover those ugly white edges.

I print and cut the dog twice; on the second I fussy cut just the head and flag as I wanted to attach it with an action wobble spring.  I colored him with Copic markers and accented with Wink of Stella on the stars and Nuvo Drops in black for the nose and eyes; highlight with a white gel pen.  Here's a closer look:

I made a simple sentiment, playing off the Patriotic pup image.  The back of the card looked rather plain, so I added a single mat of another patterned paper from the same kit.

I know many dog-loving friends who would appreciate receiving this card for the 4th; but he's cute and he makes me smile so I'm not sure I can part with it!

And, if you get the chance, come visit me at Katydid Cards, too!

canada day

Hi Everyone,
This journal page was created to represent the Canada Day celebration. I started my art journal page by painting the sky area light blue. After I used a sponge and dabbed some darker blue and some white  to give dimensions to the sky. For the green part I used some paper I had to create was should be some grass. I then cut out a fence using my die cutter and glued it in place. I hand cut the sky putting some stitching black markings on it and die cut some clouds. The clouds edges were done in blue ink. I cut out some birds and colored them with marker then pasted them on page.

The moose is a stamp from http://sunsationalstamps.com/. I used the first moose as its original size and downsized the other two to make them smaller, giving them baby moose look. I colored in the Canada hat and the flag to represent my country. The pole was drawn in grey marker and then added my quote.

Mosquito fun card

Hi my name is Mona back with a fun summer card idea using this fun digital stamp set called Minneskeeta from Sunsational Crafts.

I started my card by adhering the pattern paper from my stash onto my card base using the Best Glue Ever with no clog writing cap. This Glue is very sticky and requires so little Glue this is why I always use the no clog writing cap to make sure I add just a small amount and that the tip doesn't block. The Glue dries clear and holds really well. I also adhered both mosquitoes using the same Glue.

Here I took my Embellie gellie to add the sequin to my card it has the perfect  tackiness it’s strong enough to pick up the sequins and release them in the precise spot.

This completes my card for today hope you enjoyed my mini tutorial and looking forward to see you again soon. For your browsing convenience here is the link http://sunsationalstamps.com/product-category/digital-stamps for stamps and http://scraperfect.com/ For the Best Glue Ever and much more.

Love 4th of July

Howdy-do!  Today I decided to do a scrapbook layout.  I have been so busy making cards lately that I haven't had much time for my first passion…scrapbooking.
I recently came across some pictures of our family at a local fireworks festival.  A polo field near our home has a fireworks display every year and we prefer to park at the church across the street from the field than park in the polo field…it can be quite messy.

First I printed out the Fireworks Couple digi image from Sunsational Stamps and colored it with my Copic markers.  I used a Wink of Stella gold and a Spectrum Noir blue shimmer pens for the fireworks, for that extra something, something!

I cut the layout mats using my Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  I cut extra stars, numbers, letters and little rockets using the same cartridge.  The foundation is Bazzill paper and the center anchoring strip is Bo Bunny.  This is going to end up being a two page layout, so I will post the other page when I have it completed

I hope you enjoyed our layout today, and we would love it if you would like us on Facebook, follow our blog by clicking on the "Follow Me" button and follow us on Instagram so you don't miss a thing!

Happy Scrapping!

Seals and Sharks, oh my

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with another post for Sunsational Stamps.  Today's I'm using Ocean Critters 2.

With summer here, I know we'll be heading to the aquarium and some of the theme parks.  Perhaps we'll even set up a fishing trip or two.  So these stamps are perfect.

Aren't they cute?  I love the seals and that shark is pretty amazing!  Just don't get too close!!!
I colored them lightly with Copic Markers, then added them to a background of blue and yellow with a Disney theme.

So what are your summer plans?

Thanks for stopping by.

Sunsational Fire Works

Greetings friends and fellow crafters, LeeAnn here today with my Patriotic Inspiration. Fourth of July is coming up and making cards for the local recruiters office, I figured why not get busy. So, using Sunsational Stamps Digital Image called Fireworks Couple I decided to get busy. First I set up my printer to make 4 sets, then used my Scan n Cut to cut hem all out leaving a slight border. I do this so that I can file the extra images away for later use.

In order to make my card I use Distress inks in Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed and Seedless Preserves to make the background, Layering, smoothing and then let it dry. I then cut this panel to 3.75" x 5". I cut a white panel at 4" x 5.25" and my base is A2 size of 4.25" x 5.5".

Today I used a combination of Spectrum Noirs and Bic Mark-Its as well as Sharpies and even a Wink of Stella and Luna to complete this project.

I hope you have enjoyed this project. If you haven't checked out this months Challenge, please jump on over HERE to link up your project, our theme for this month is SUMMER.

Patriotic Patricia

Hi everyone, this is a card made using the clear stamp from http://sunsationalstamps.com/product/patriotic-patricia/. Made a very simple card to represent the holiday celebration. I started by covering the entire cardstock with the purple. Leaving a few inches in color I then cut out a square with the stars to match the fireworks Patricia is holding in her hands. I then cut a square with one of my die and has a stitch pattern all around. Patricia was colored using my Spectrum noir markers and added some glitter on stars and a shimmering blue for the stars on the dress. I added a title cut out in light colored cardstock and added three rhinestones at bottom of card.
Make sure to check out all the wonderful stamps at http://sunsationalstamps.com. Hope you enjoyed this project. You may view more of my projects on my blog at http://scrappylorrhen.blogspot.ca/

Glad We Worked the Bugs Out

Hello everyone, it's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today...thinking deep thoughts...

In a perfect world, we'd all get along; no arguments or ill will.   But this is real life and conflicts can and do happen.  It's happened to you, right?

Well, my card made with Sunsational Stamp's Life is a Picnic digi stamp set is for those real life occasions when you just want to say you're happy to have "worked the bugs out".  And here's the card:

This type of card is called a Tri-fold Shadowbox.  I made it with a Lori Whitlock cut file I purchased in the Silhouette store.  I changed things up a bit to accommodate the images.  And speaking of the images...isn't that the cutest bug you ever saw?

The tri-fold back and center front piece were cut from a pale blue I had in my stash.  I embossed the center panel with the Cloudy Day embossing folder...one of my favorites.

Next I filled my l'il bug with digital patterned paper.  The paper has a bit of tan in it, so I color- matched the side panels and the center, middle shadowbox panel to that.  Here's a closer look:

I cut the eyes and nose separately and popped them with dimensionals.  Then I coated his nose with black Nuvo Drops and highlighted his eyes with White Gel Pen.  The sun was covered with clear Wink of Stella.

I love the greeting included in the set and wanted to use it, but I wanted it filled with pattern.  To accomplish this, I traced it and filled it with the same patterned paper right in my Silhouette.

And here's one last look from above so you can see the fold better.  For mailing, the sides fold in and to fit in a padded envelope or a "chunky" card envelope also sold in the Silhouette store.

See you soon with another card.  In the meantime, come visit me at Katydid Cards if you get the chance.  And, if you do, please say, "hello"!

Summer Picnic Fun

Hello there, crafty friends!  It’s Sharon, One Crafty Mrs, from A Piece Of (my) Heart's blog and I’m here today to share another card using this cute Sunsational Stamps digi named Daisy.  You can find her in the store, here.

Daisy At The Beach-june 12-ocm-SS

This card was made using digital papers from Pixel Scrapper.  I’ve really come to like using them as I can pick and choose what I want and there is no waste of pieces I will never use like sometimes happens with paper packs.  It doesn’t seem to take up a lot of ink like I thought it might either.  I think, in the long run, it’s probably cheaper.

I cut an 8.5x11-inch 110lb piece of cardstock at 5.5-inches on the long side.  This makes a top-folding A2 card.  I chose the yellow with white polka dots digital paper and cut that to 4.25x5.5-inches and adhered that to my card front.  It completely covered the front of the card.  Then I cut the “Life’s A Picnic” cardstock to 3.75x5-inches and adhered it on top of the previous piece.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the free clipart picnic scene and added a black mat behind it.  I also cut a free clipart umbrella to add to the scene and I popped it up with some dimensionals.

Daisy At The Beach Copics-june 12-ocm-SS

Daisy was cut with my Cameo and I colored her with Copics see color chart).  Then I popped her up onto the beach blanket with dimensionals.

I hope you love my card as much as I do!

That’s it for me today.   Stop by the Sunsational Stamps Store and check out all the great stamps Lisa has available.  And don’t forget to visit the Facebook Fan page and the Sunsational Stamps blog for some fabulous inspiration from the other amazing Design Team members.

Baby's First Pool

This stamp was so cute, I used this stamp because I am a new grandma since April 2017 and I will be watching my grandson in a pool this summer.

This was a digital stamp from http://sunsationalstamps.com/product/babys-first-pool/ so I cut out all the pieces and colored them in using my spectrum noir markers. For the sky I painted a light blue and then used a sponge with a darker shade of blue and some white and sponged colours randomly to give it this look.
Using one of my die I cut out some green cardstock so make some grass. The title was also layered with a black cardstock to make it stand out more.

Canada Day Fireworks

Hi everyone this is Mona back with a fun card using Fireworks Couple from Sunsational Crafts. I first started by printing the digital stamps and used my Spectrum Noir markers to colour them in and then fussy cut them.

Once my image was cut I also used a grass die cut from my stash to make the grass, I then used my Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect  to adhere everything down. It needs a very little amount and very precise on where you drop the Glue when using the No clog writing cap also from ScraPerfect . This Glue is very tacky and holds really well and dries clear so no problem if it oozes out from under the image.

Feel free to brows http://sunsationalstamps.com/shop/for additional stamps
Or http://scraperfect.com/ for the Best Glue Ever or much more.
Thank you for stopping by see you again soon.

Under the Shade of a Daisy

Hello one and all, today we are thinking summertime.  I am using the Mouse and Flower  stamp set from Sunsational Stamps that you can find Here.  The little mouse seeking shade under the daisy makes me smile. I am a huge fan of daisies and believe it or not, mice...the cartoon version that is.  :)

First off, I used an oval template, taped down to the lower right corner of my cardstock, and then taped a chicken wire stencil ( from TCW) over that. I sponged on Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon.  Once I removed the stencil, I again sponged more Mermaid Lagoon over the entire oval opening.  This process darkens the already inked pattern and lightly colors the actual chicken wire outline. Then I colored this cute little fella with my Copic markers and fussy cut the mouse and daisy.  I used foam squares to pop it up on the stenciled area.

For the 'Hello' (by Lawn Fawn), I die cut both a piece of orange cardstock as well as the yellow speech bubble which is a die set from the Speech Bubble Edgy Options set by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I did this so I could inlay the word into the bubble and eliminate bulk for easy mailing.

This panel was adhered to a top folding white notecard and it was complete.

I hope you enjoyed today's card.  Please like us on Facebook follow us on Instagram and follow our blog so you don't miss a thing!

Happy scrappin'
