Tuesday With a Twist

Hello friends, followers and fans!  With everyone in the 'Back to School' mode, I thought it would be fun to put a little twist on our Tuesday.  Humans are NOT the only ones that go to school...pups go to obedience class, and one pup in particular that I am referring to is my daughter's Yorkie, Jack.  I thought a little card to commemorate the occasion was in order.
Card using "In The Doghouse" digital image.
Card using "In the Doghouse" digital image.
I used the 'In the Doghouse' image (I omitted the sentiment at the bottom) and colored it with Close To My Heart colored pencils.  I also used Gamsol mineral spirits and a blending stump to smooth out the pencil lines.  This was the first time I used this technique and I really loved it.  I learned it this past weekend when I attended the Scrapbook Expo in Schaumburg, Illinois.  I added the word "Skool" to the "Schoolhouse" and drew in the K and L backwards…just a little whimsy.  ;)

First I printed my digital image on the right hand side of the card stock then I cut the top of the card to follow the roof line and folded it over along the side of the house.  The house card's finished size is a standard A2 size.
I hope you enjoyed today's card.  Stop by the digi store at Sunsational Stamps and Scrapping with Lisa at http://scrappingwithlisadesigns.com and please check out my blog at www.papercanvascreations.wordpress.com

Happy crafting!

School time!

I used our cute school bus today on a fun easel card and with an action wobble!
I created my scene using pattern papers.

I put crystal effects on the windshield and added 2 gems for the stop lights.

How cute right?  So fun!

I love this image, I am alittle late getting it loaded, however I think you will agree it is another Lisa  Sensational Sunsational image. I found clip art on the internet to embellish as well as two different mats edged,  I love the effect of the little lawn cut out on my cricut explore.  I colored the boy and girl with copics.  The bus was cut out with yellow cardstock, I fussy cut out the boy and girl and used foam dots to raise for a 3d effect. I hop you enjoy this wonderful image with so many possibilities

Janie LaCasella

Hi...most of you know me as Janie LaCasella on FB (my maiden name) or The Craft Princess on my blog Crafter's Castle, or jjgz4ever on YT, but my name is Janie Rinta.  I have been playing around with making cards for about 8 years, but when I look back at my early stuff it is just embarrassing.  My crafting actually started developing about 5 years ago when my wonderful supportive husband started buying me anything and everything I need to make whatever I want.  I enjoy making cards, decorating frames, altering things, and a little scrapbooking.  This past 6 months my crafting took a giant step up.....about 6 months ago I made my first YouTube video and was asked to be on the My Besties YouTube DT....then I was introduced to card challenges and started a Pinterest board....and a few months ago I finally got my blog, Crafter's Castle, up and running.  And the best part of this past 6 months was meeting so many wonderful craft friends.  And here I am :)

First Day of Kindergarten

Hi there and happy Tuesday to you!  Today I created a layout for my daughter's first day of kindergarten, which was a loooong time ago.  When I saw these digital images from Sunsational Stamps, I knew I HAD to re-scrap my pictures.
I used two images; Bookworm and Apple with Worm…these two guys are simply adorable.  I had a blast coloring them with alcohol markers.  I used glossy accents on the bookworm's eyes to give the glasses the appearance of lenses.  I hope you enjoy todays page layout!

Hello my Fellow Crafters! Sticking with this month's theme of Back To School, I made a Bookmaker for my daughter.. I am not sure how long she will be able to keep track of it, but it was so much fun to make for her and see her face when I gave it to her. Read below what was used to create this gift of love.

The little girl is a image from Sunsational Stamps. I colored her with my Spectrum Noir Ink Intense pencils. ( they are my favorite tool to use in water coloring)  I colored in the apple with Ranger Glossy Accents to add some shine to the apple.
The eyes are Boogly Eyes that gives the little girl some dimension. To be honest, I was not sure if it would freak her out or not.. lol.. But it went over well and she loves to shake the card to see the eye balls move..
I cut the card stock with my Silhouette Cameo book mark cut dye. Then I used my Xyron sticker maker to adhere it to the card stock. I was thinking with a 8 year old it needed the extra sticky on the image.
So here it is, My Back To School Book Mark... Hope you all enjoy!
