Santa's Chimney

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with another post for Sunsational Stamps.  This month we are celebrating Christmas in July.

I love this image - I often imagined growing up that Santa would one day get stuck in a chimney from eating all those cookies!!

I colored the bricks with red and brown markers.  I also colored Santa's suit and his boots.  I matted this panel with black cardstock and added it to some Christmas paper before matting it with white and brown cardstock.

How adorable, right?

Remember to stop by the Sunsational Store to see all the stamps available.

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas in July with Marji

For today's card I am using a physical stamp! lol, I seriously need to ink my stamps more!
They were my first love and I've neglected them for digital images.
This cutie is simply called Reindeer.
I stamped him on kraft brown paper and used pencils to color his antlers and inner ears.
I used my gel pens for his eyes and nose so they have some shine.
I stamped him a second time and cut just his hands and feet, honestly, I did this twice, I colored his hooves black but decided I liked the simpler look for him.
I then cut the bunny from some of the paper I used for the background quilt so he's got a gift to give.
After I cut 2 inch blocks from 3 different papers, I pieced them onto a piece of card front then ran it through my big shot with this cute embossing folder.
 What do you think? Sweet?

Be sure to head to the shop and check out all the new stuff!

Our challenge this month is Christmas in July, so be sure to link up!

Christmas In July

Hi everyone, my name is Izabella Kurdian and i am new member of Sunsational Stamps.I created this card for the Christmas In July challenge, using Owl Be Home for Christmas, You Can Count on Me stamp from Sunsational Stamps.
I used my Tim Holtz distress inks to create watercolor background, added white embossed stars with some Wink of Stella.I colored the owl with my Spectrum Noir Markers.I used foam squares to adhere my owl and my sentiment to my card. Then I adhere the front panel to a A2 size card base with a blue piece of card stock for little more interest.I think he is a lot of fun, you can find him and many more cute stamps @Sunsational Stamps or on Facebook page @ https://www.facebook.com/sunsationalstamps
I hope you enjoyed today's card and i will see you soon!

Sleigh Bells Ring .... Are You Listening?

Are you singing 'Walking in a Winter Wonderland' yet?!

It's Helen here with another inspiration post and I'm sticking to the 'Christmas in July' theme for today's card.

I've used the very cute 'Sleigh Bells Ring' digi stamp, coloured with Promarkers and highlighted with some glitter glue.

You can find the stamp here on the website.

Here's a side view of the card:

It's a very easy card to make. The base is two strips of card measuring 28cm by 4cm with each one scored and 14cm and folded in half.  I've used red gingham paper on the front of each piece and then the image is  matted on to red card and forms a 'bridge' between them.

I've finished the card with some gems and Card Candi.

And speaking of Christmas, have you entered our 'Christmas in July' challenge yet?  Have a look at all the details here.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Oh, Christmas Tree!

Hello Sunny Friends - Annie Collins here bringing you Christmas in July!

I used the Oh, Christmas Tree digital stamp which you can get here.  I live in Sunny Florida so our Christmas is more sunny than snowy. We make Sandmen not snowmen. Or in this case Sand-People. I use my children's favorite colors for their hats. I also decorated the tree with sequins. I flip them over to give a more Christmas ornament feel.

Are you feel festive yet?  Join the Christmas in July Challenge !

Sweet Sam

Hi!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards!

The image I used for my card today is aptly named, Sweet Sam.  He is sweet...and so is that candy cane he's holding!  I thought he would be just right for our Christmas in July theme.

To make this shaker card, I imported the image into my Silhouette design screen and traced him to create cut lines.  I removed all the lines except those which would be the white part of the candy cane.  Then I placed him on a panel of some cute digital paper from a collection called Candy Cane Lane.

I printed then colored him with Copic markers.  I added some Marvy Snow Marker to his hat for the fur and some Wink of Stella on the candy cane and he's all set!

Here's another look at him from a slightly different angle; trying to capture both the coloring and the shaker contents.

And one more picture trying to zero in on the shaker contents, which are the Moonshine Collection...clear sequins in various sizes.  I used the foam adhesive strips from Stampin' Up behind the panel as they are slightly thicker than mounting tape, thus allowing more room to "shake".

And one final picture of the inside of the card with a sentiment color matched to the digital paper from the front.

I hope you're in the Christmas spirit now because we'd love for you to enter Sunsational Stamp's monthly challenge.  This month the theme is Christmas in July.  How about getting creative and join us over on the Sunsational Stamps Facebook Challenge Page.

Sunsational Jingles Guest Post

Hello, crafters! My name is Jeanie Ellis and I'm so excited to announce that I've been asked to do a Guest Designer spot for Sunsational Stamps! And the theme for this month is Christmas in July! But first, a bit about Sunsational Stamps:

"Sunsational Crafts is a small company from Minnesota that specializes in crafting products such as our own clear stamp line, dies, paper & more that are whimsical and fun. Sunsational Crafts was started in 2016 by Lisa Peters. Sunsational Crafts is a place where all your paper crafting needs are met.
Lisa Peters is the designer and illustrator who has a love for crafting which started long before Sunsational Crafts was even a dream. Her passion is a driving force at Sunsational Crafts! She enjoys spending her free time playing games, reading, lots of different crafting, and relaxing with her four children, grandson and her fur baby, Pugsley. She strives to create cute stamps and crafting goodies that are truly one of a kind."
I was very excited about the opportunity to do a design project for this fairly new company. And I received the cutest little digital to use in my project! Jingles is the cutest little thing who has her best friend with her, enjoying the holidays by the expressions on their faces! So I decided to do a tag with her. Here it is:
She was so fun to color! I used my markers, then went over the markers with my Prismacolors. It seemed to give it more of a depth to the colors. I then set her aside and worked on my tag, cutting it out with my Fiskars and then layering it with musical paper and then a couple rectangle sheets underneath. I used Tim Holtz distress inks on all the edges of the papers. I then hot glued the lace border with lace pearl drops onto the bottom of the tag and added a sentiment to that.

Before I adhered her to the tag, I angled some lace from the top right to the bottom left and glued it on. A large snowflake with a rhinestone was added to the top along with a butterfly from Reneabouquets. I added a die cut Christmas tree to the background and finally adhered Jingles onto the tag with some 3D foam squares. Finally, I added some pearl sprays to the side and slipped tinsel through the punched hole in the top.

I am so very glad you stopped by! It's such a blessing when you do! And be sure to check out Sunsational Stamps!

Blessings, Jeanie Ellis - Scrapbookingmamaw

Christmas in July

Turtely Love

Hi Everyone
I have made a card representing Christmas in July as a monthly theme challenge from Sunsational Stamps.
First I started by running the green cardstock through my cuttlebug to give a pattern.  To give the frame shape I used a die and used a smaller one to outline the stamped image. I colored the image with markers and put some glitter on the red balls and the star. I then colored the outline of the inner square black to give it more dimension. This stamp can be purchased at the wonderful
http://sunsationalstamps.com and many more fun stamps to create awesome projects.

Friendship Never Melts Away

Hello everyone this is Mona back with a fun project using this beautiful stamp set from Sunsational Crafts called Snowman Soup Set.

I started my project by adding gesso to my background then using a small set of water crayons I made different shades of circles covering my page. Once all the page was covered I used a dark blur alcohol marker and made vertical and horizontal lines to give my background more interest. I tprinted out my digital stamps coloured them using my Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut them. I proceeded by adhering everything into place and this completes my mini tutorial.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to browse all of the stamp on Sunsational Crafts. Here is the link to the store http://sunsationalstamps.com/shop/

Christmas in July

Seasons greetings! Sunsational Stamps is featuring Christmas in July so my thoughts have shifted to getting some of my Christmas cards started.  I have to make what seems like millions of them and most have to be mail-friendly, so this design has dimension and detail but it is almost completely flat.

I used Sunsational stamps Santa's List and colored this adorable elf with my Copic markers.  I used the colorless blender to give his pants a plaid-like pattern.  (I hope you can see it)
The bells on his shoes were colored using Scrapbook.com's gold metallic marker. I fussy cut it out to pop it up (just a little) with foam adhesive, onto my background.

Which brings us to how that was created.  I used a piece of 140# watercolor paper and stamped Raisin Boat's Lollipop background with clear VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Ranger white embossing powder and heat set it.  I smooshed some Distress inks in Candy Apple Red and Picked Raspberry onto my craft mat and then dropped some water on them to get my watercolor ready. Next I generously swiped water on my embossed piece and then started dropping color into the little 'lollipops' in a random order. Finally I spritzed the watercolor panel with perfect pearls that I have premixed in a mini mister. Stamped the inside with 'You're on the SWEET list!' and called it done.  I went with a mix of traditional green along with non traditional light green, light red and bright pink for my color scheme.  I kind of lean toward the brighter colors for my cards, but I do mix it up since I make so many.

We would love if you would pop on over to the blog and enter a Christmas project of your own in our monthly challenge. While you are there take a look in our store for some adorable Christmas images and stamp sets.  Just click on this link to get there!

Happy 4th of July

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with another post for Sunsational Stamps.

Happy 4th of July.  Hope your day is filled with fun adventures today.

I wanted a bright fun card, so I selected a pattern paper filled with color.  Then I added a panel of white and red to fit across the center of the card.

I colored the image with pencils, then die cut her.  So I didn't lose the stars, I fussy cutting around them before die cutting around her.  I placed her upon another die and added her to the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Owl be home for Christmas

Be sure to check out the shop, Lisa is adding lots of new items very soon!

Today I'm using the cute Owl be home for christmas image.

I kept the card simple to keep the postage down to one stamp.
I learned last year to hold off on the bling when sending out Christmas cards.

I used my SIL library of patterns to fill him in. I love "coloring" like this, it's so neat to have the look of paper piecing with out the cutting.

I hope you will join us in our current challenge.
Christmas in July is always fun!

I love making Christmas cards and I make them all year round, not just in November and December!

This is a card I've made using the very cute 'Owl Be Home' for Christmas set which you can find here on the website.

The theme for our challenge this month is 'Christmas in July' so make sure you head over to the post here and link up your card!
