Make a wish

I have a fun birthday card to share today.  This was a cute set to play with.  I decided to line up the candles as if they are marching to their place on the cake.  I kept the card simple since the paper is so busy by just adding some glitter to the flames and to the frosting.
I used foam dots to pop the sentiment on the front.

You can find this set here

I feel this is a very fitting card to post for today! I hope you have a very merry Christmas and never forget Jesus, who came to save us all!
God bless and keep you well!

Happy Birthday, Mon Ami

Bonjour Mon Ami!  Today I created a birthday card for my dear friend using Fifi from Scrapping With Lisa Designs.  This stamp was created, for me, by request.  :)  I needed a French girl with a beret for a project I was working on and Lisa Peters created this adorable gal with her little French poodle!  BTW, I HAVE a poodle…lucky coincidence?!

I colored her with my ShinHan alcohol markers and added Wink of Stella to the beret and her blouse to give it shimmer and a bit of a party feel.  I mounted it on black cardstock then teal cardstock, both by Bazzill.  I tied silver thread to the mat, added clear sequins and added the 'Happy Birthday' in black vinyl from my stash of Elizabeth Craft Design Peel-Off Stickers.  I then added foam tape to pop it up on the base, which is a retired pattern by Close To My Heart.  Voila, a card for Mon Ami!

Not sure if the shimmer is coming through in the picture, but trust me, it is rocking like a nightclub!

Cute kitty birthday cards

I made 2 birthday cards today using the cute cats.

I made the sentiment up myself.  I thought it would be fun to have the siamese grabbing the toy on the inside.

What do you think?  Cute?

Owl Tell You A Secret

Howdy-Hoot!  Well today's project began as one idea and ended slightly different.  You would never know if I didn't tell you…but I am going to let you in on a little secret…I made an oopsie.  There is a mantra that most paper crafters live by and that is "There are NO mistakes in paper crafting, just opportunities to embellish" or in this case alter the image.  ;)
Warm Winter Wishes Card
Warm Winter Wishes Card
This is the end result, and I am happy with it, however, it was supposed to have two adorable owls on it.  But low and behold if I didn't stamp the sentiment too high.  UGH!  I have ten thousand more things to make between now and yesterday so the idea of making another background was stressing me out, sooo….I cut one of the owls off and there you have it, one owl wishing you warm winter wishes instead of two.
Original Image with both owls

I colored the image with colored pencils and blended it with Gamsol.  The image Owl Always Need You is from the Sunsational Stamps Shop.  Aren't they adorable?!
Background for card

The background was made by sponging layer upon layer of Distress inks.  I layered Tumbled Glass all over the cardstock then I added Peacock Feathers to part of it.  I flicked some water on top and dabbed dry with a paper towel, to create the snowy bokeh look.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment which is from Close To My Heart'Frosted set.  And as you see from the picture, the sentiment was a bit too high to accommodate both the owls…sigh…

CAS cards by Marji

Today I'm sharing a group of cards I made using the newest release images.  I decided to make some CAS cards seeing as how postage is a little steep these days and there are so many rules.  Even with the gems on these I'll probably have to add some extra postage but I love them anyway!

The little tree is a half circle folded in a zig zag fashion.

How cute is this image?  I love these mice.

Simple add on of a few gems.

This one I kept even more simple with some pattern paper scalloped ovals.

Same here, Look at his face! He's so happy!

Wishing you and your's a very Merry Christmas!!
